From a youth, I saw visions of myself surrounded by a group of cordial people (company) touring through residential areas of different contexts such as villages, suburbs and projects giving away gifts, food and resources. The resources were based on the need of the particular people in the area. In the case of people with material prosperity, the resource targeted another aspect of their being where they may have been awry or amiss.

 

During the time of the recurring visions, my fellow peer’s eyes would light up in the Virgin Islands because of the floats going down the road during the Christmas season. When the other children witnessed the spirit of the season, they would celebrate and give credence to the spirit of “carnival”, but in my soul, it screamed, “revival!”

 

As a result, the tour began on the streets of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas, where I attended college. I would tour around the surrounding neighborhoods on Saturdays and on special days.

At first, I didn’t have a vehicle, so I walked around sharing the Word of God and playing music from my phone with connected speakers. Throughout that time, as it still is, there was not an affluent amount of money or resources, but the music and message proved to be sufficient.

 

The H.O.O.D. Tour’s purpose is to help us take a message that is already mobile and appropriate the delivery for a revolutionary act accompanied with any genre of gospel music that the particular neighborhood can relate with.
