As long as I could remember, I have always been around prayer. I don’t mean the going-to-church type of prayer or sitting-in-situations type of prayer. I mean the type of prayer that is as much a part of myself, as my oldest and fondest memory. These memory-meshed moments always were with my mother in our most beloved place-the bedroom. Yeah, you read right!

These bedroom prayers influenced my entire life. They have etched a seal in my soul. Sounds good but let me show you how heavy it gets: Whenever darkness begins to hover over the canopy of the sky, my spirit begins to pray without me being aware.

 

It doesn’t matter if it is early morning before the rising of the sun or late in the night before the midnight hour, I inadvertently pray. As a child, I remember not being able to turn on the light in the room when we prayed. I assumed mom loved those prayers when the sun did not shine through our project windows but learned in my own life that those window watch hours are essential for the engagement of spiritual warfare. We always prayed during the second, third and fourth watch.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is in the Second Watch (9:00pm-12:00am) that we asked for forgiveness, protection and strength. We recited the Lord’s Prayer, read aloud Psalm 91 and sung songs of praise and thanksgiving into the midnight hour. This is the watch for preparation for spiritual activity and is urged that the saints pray for Divine protection, Divine judgements, deliverance, and that demonic standards and diabolical schemes be broken over communities and the economy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the Third Watch (12:00-3:00am), we prayed with more force and my mom prayed in other tongues that I did not understand. I have learned that during this time demonic activity is at its highest level, as witches, warlocks, diviners and every other devil worshipper uses the energy from the moon to empower their attack as men sleep (1 Kings 3:20). However, the weapons that we have are spiritual and should be used to pull down all strongholds that are used to scatter the Good Shepherd’s sheep.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the Fourth Watch (3:00am-6am), my mother were either going to work or coming home so this was her travel hours. As it is in the natural for her, so it was in the spirit. This time is when the astral/spiritual entities have to return home before the rising of the sun (Genesis 32:24-26). Consequently, we must speak God’s Word to command blessings over our day and set success in motion. The wheel of favor must be spun during this watch as declarations are being made to establish the Kingdom of God over plans and purposes of the enemy. This is when we ought to pray for angelic intervention to thwart hijackers in the spirit realm and for a release of aid from them to watch over us as we work out our soul salvation, daily.
